Teck-Zilla feat. Phlow – Go Hard (Bigger Than A Monster) [Video]

It’s a celebration of Hip-Hop culture in the energetic video for “Go Hard,” the brand-new single from Montreal-based producer Teck-Zilla and his frequent collaborator, the inimitable Phlow. These two Str8Buttah artists have been dropping some serious heat over the past several years, and their work together only seems to get stronger with each subsequent release. Not only that, but they’re capable of switching up their styles while retaining what makes their music so damn dope in the first place: unquestionable talent paired with distinctive style. It’s all on display in the “Go Hard” video shot by themythcreate, and edited by fellow Str8Buttah TV member Rcube, who blends visuals that were shot on location in Lagos, Nigeria during this year’s RedBull-sponsored “Battle Of The Year” for breakdancers. As the b-boys kill it on stage, Phlow flaunts her skills on the mic over Teck’s boisterous production that features a crazy flip on the chorus. As for what’s next from these two, Teck is currently working on new projects as he plans for an upcoming excursion in Ibiza, alongside South African DJ Black Coffee (who produced Drake’s “Get It Together”). Phlow is back at work on her official debut album, ‘Flux,’ after recently serving as a judge for the 2017 Hennessy VS Class rap auditions. Check out the visuals, and head over to HYPEDDIT for the au-gratis download of “Go Hard,” courtesy of Str8Buttah Productions.

Phlow feat. Mz Kiss, Pryse & Pasha – MP3 [Video]

Str8buttah Productions proudly presents “MP3” single/video which is a no holds barred display of skills by 3 emcees. Inspired by Chuck D’s quote “The Super MC is the one that can spit in more than two languages”, Teck-Zilla recruits the trio of Pryse, Phlow and Mz Kiss who all storm in with a unique blend of English, Pidgin English and Yoruba languages showing that Hip-hop is truly a global culture. The video was shot by Str8buttah member RCube. “MP3” is a bonus cut off Phlow’s yet to be titled upcoming project.

Camp Lo – Sparkle (Teck-Zilla Remix) [Audio]

It’s only fitting that Camp Lo’s classic debut, “Uptown Saturday Night”, would celebrate its 20th anniversary on a Saturday (today, Jan. 28). And to pay homage to one of the album’s standout tracks, producer Teck-Zilla shares his jazzy and smooth remix of “Sparkle”. As it appears on the album, the track glides by with an effortless swagger thanks to the playful rhymes of Bronx duo Geechi Suede and Sonny Cheeba, and the loungy production of Ski Beatz. And in the hands of the Nigerian-born, Montreal-based Teck-Zilla, the track is still super-chill and ideal for a smoked-out jazz club. You know, kind of like the one depicted on the cover of “Uptown Saturday Night”. That is, of course, if the venue has a section for dancing and moving about, because Teck’s remix has a definite swing to it. His beat also injects some new sounds into listening experience, including some infectious horn stabs. And if you’re feeling his work on here, be sure to check out the producer’s latest projects; like last year’s Jackson 5 tribute, “Joe Jackson Kids”, and his record with rapper Allen Poe, “Lightbulb Over My Head While I’m Thinking“.

Allen Poe & Teck-Zilla – Lightbulb Over My Head While I’m Thinking [EP]

A vintage look at life (be it general or personal) through sepia tone, laid back soundscapes. Also somewhat fun and lackadaisical in terms of overall vibe. Song length purposely short to keep things dense and urgent while engaging the listener with dope beats and arresting lyrics. Lightbulb Over My Head While I'm Thinking by Teck-Zilla X Allen Poe

Allen Poe & Teck-Zilla feat. Hannibal King – Incandescent [Audio]

A vintage look at life through laid back tone and sepia soundscapes, Lexington, Kentucky based MC Allen Poe and Nigerian born/Montreal based producer Teck Zilla team up for the new EP “Light Bulb Over My Head While I’m Thinking.” Littered across the beats are snippets from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s speech about the conscious mind, which is the entry point for Poe to touch off his various thoughts about…well, thought. From inner reflections on what to pass along to his children to musings about being socially awkward, the objective is to explore that caricature “light bulb” over one’s head while mid-thought. As philosophically charged as as it sounds, AP and Teck carry a light tone and relaxed vibe throughout. Featured artists are Nashville’s Jung Youth, Queens MC/Producer Hannibal King and Nigerian singer Maka.

AWKWORD feat. Modenine, Five Steez, Holstar, Latasha Alcindor, Third Eye, Wakazi, The Assembly, Maka & DJ J Hart – I Am [Audio]

“I Am” is the latest international collaborative effort from global Hip Hop ambassador, rap artist and #HipHopEd representative AWKWORD, creator of the 2014 album ‘World View’ that featured — for the first time in Hip Hop history — contributions from every continent on earth. As part of his ongoing effort to connect us worldwide through Hip Hop music and culture, as well as showcase the Motherland, the Diaspora and women in Hip Hop, AWKWORD connected with Nigerian-born Canadian producer Teck-Zilla, Nigerian songstress Maka and French DJ J Hart to recruit an All-Star cast of emcees to join him on the “I Am” Global Posse Cut, including Latasha Alcindor (USA), Holstar (Zambia), Wakazi (Tanzania), Five Steez (Jamaica), Modenine (Nigeria), The Assembly (South Africa), and Third Eye (Malawi). Aptly entitled “I Am”, the song features 9 emcees sharing truths about their lives in their respective home countries across Africa, the Caribbean and the United States. The song will appear on AWKWORD’s 2016 EP ‘Mid-Flight’ and the forthcoming Best of AWKWORD mixtape, sponsored by The Hitmen & ItsBizkit.com.All proceeds from the sale of the song will go toward financing the creation of the video, so all the artists can truly show who they are and where they’re from. Teck-Zilla – Joe Jackson Kids [Beat Tape]

Nigerian-born, Montreal-based producer Teck-Zilla jumps back on the scene with ‘Joe Jackson Kids,’ a new instrumental tribute project full of slappers, head-nodders, and ridiculous Jackson 5 sample flips. Of course, the voice and spirit of Michael Jackson runs through the veins of this ten track effort, whether that’s on the bass-rich “Letter to Michael,” or the absolutely bananas, but short-lived “Outro View.” It also features snippets of interviews with the late musical legend, whose words build a narrative amidst the chopped-up samples. And then there’s instant highlight “Human Nature,” which goes beyond simply turning Jackson’s track of the same name on its head. Teck-Zilla weaved in bits from select Illmatic jams to flesh it out into what sounds like a fully realized song. And for those unfamiliar, Illmatic standout “It Ain’t Hard to Tell” features a “Human Nature” flip by Large Professor, so it’s only right Teck-Zilla paid homage. As for the project’s name, Teck-Zilla explains, “I got the title from one of my favourite Jeru the Damaja records, “Whatever,” off his Wrath of the Math LP.” He continues, “That line always cracked me and my brother up every time, so it was kinda like an inside joke for both of us. Just remember to say ‘check it out’ after the title.” This is Teck-Zilla’s third instrumental project following Souled Off: A Dedication to Molly Molls and Son of Sade (An Ode), so be sure to peep those once you’re done bumping Joe Jackson Kids. Just make sure you keep

Teck-Zilla – Son Of Sade: An Ode [EP]

An 8 track instrumental EP that pays homage to the legendary UK singer. A solid blend of her soulful, uplifting vocals, Jazzy backdrops, Afro rhythms plus that good ol’ boom bap. With a career that spans nearly 30 years, Sade has earned her spot in the soul hall of fame. Sure, many artists in the past have remixed and sampled her work, but none of those projects are as ambitious as Son of Sade: An Ode FreEP. Brought to you by by the Montreal-based beatsmith, Teck-Zilla, this near 20 minute jam blends the work of the singer with Teck’s Boom bap production savvy. What’s interesting to note is that like Sade, Teck was born in Nigeria and spent time living in London, so it’s no surprise that both of these artists’ sounds can pair so well together. ‘Son of Sade: An Ode’ is now available for free download, so press play today.. you’re gonna wanna keep this ‘by your side.’ Son Of Sade: An Ode by Teck-Zilla
