The Black Opera feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow – Beginning Of The End [Video]

A Message from The Black Opera: “What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from. The Black Opera enlist the Queen Georgia Anne Muldrow to reinforce the multilinear concept of the beginning and the end. This songs nuance stands for power, rebirth, triumph, completion, and exhaultation. It is TBO’s audible Alpha and Omega.”

Georgia Anne Muldrow – Pop Iconz [Video]

When Georgia Anne Muldrow surveys the musical landscape, she’s left wanting more. It’s not easy for us to watch the likes of Nicki Minaj dressed up as kalediscopic crack dealer highlighting and promoting a dead end lifestyle. Produced by Chris Keys, Georgia Anne Muldrow blesses us with her views on the politrix being parlayed into a hateful power structure that is affecting the community. Please don’t get it twisted, she’s not interested in your riches, she’s trying to tell you the children – they are listening. Georgia Says: “We as parents have to walk a very fine line between being watchful and overprotective of what our kids are exposed to…and that job is being made even more difficult by the hyper-sexual, consumerist and vain aesthetic packed with visual associations that are intentionally targeting the pre-teen generation. I’m placing the blame on the corporate agenda that abuses the minds and souls of talented or even aspiring artists. To represent an awareness that is willfully avoidant of self-realization is the bottom line for these influencers of consciousness; if someone’s life goals are completely external his/her mind can easily be subdued and controlled. Art means too much to me, i ain’t having it.”

Blackhouse (Georgia Anne Muldrow & DJ Romes) – Lectrivunkin [Audio x Download]

This past October, Georgia Anne Muldrow and DJ Romes united as Blackhouse, a crew hellbent on resurrecting the electro-inspired dance-party fun of early hip-hop—with a modern twist. Their eponymous Mello Music Group album was greeted with arms wide open by older heads and young fans alike. For those still out the loop, MMG and Blackhouse offer up “Lectrivunkin” for you to sample. Let the proverbial needle drop on a decent sound system and watch as people’s heads begin to bob, hips start to sway, and vibrations rise. The synth carves deep, producing a sound both beautiful and ominous. The nearly four minute song is vocal-less save for a sample reminding you the energy of this track is “out of control.” Don’t be late to the party, Blackhouse is warmed up and groovin’. The last one to the jam is an L7…you know the rest. Blackhouse is in stores now! Lectrivunkin by Blackhouse (Georgia Anne Muldrow w/ DJ Romes)

Blackhouse – Somali [Video + MP3]

Georgia Anne Muldrow & DJ Romes are Blackhouse. Here’s a fan made video using footage taken from an upcoming documentary. You can download “Somali” here. Make sure to pick up their full album “The Blackhouse” on iTunes, if you like what you hear. The Blackhouse is subversive and funky. The electro-disco-hip-hop hybrid of Georgia Anne Muldrow and DJ Romes aims to energize your body as well as your consciousness with their electrifying self-titled LP, Blackhouse, delivered via Mello Music Group. Today, enjoy the latest leak from their album, the high-energy track “SOMALI.” Heavy political commentary is woven into wobbling bass lines and galvanizing whistles in the song that takes the listener back to block parties powered by street lights and mobile DJ systems. While some might see blatantly repeating a line like “Somali pirates are the bomb” as a tracks’ central thesis a bit gauche, The Blackhouse see it as a rightful call to celebration. For those who’ve drunk the kool-aid, Somali’s have endured crippling political tumult and exploitation of their coasts by European nations, creating the conditions for modern day piracy as a way to protect an extremely vulnerable population.

Blackhouse (Georgia Anne Muldrow & DJ Romes) – fOnkie Journey [Audio x Download]

Ideal music is music that is more than the sum of its notes. The perfect beat can transcend time and space, lifting your spirit and taking your mind on a journey through the universe with your feet still on the dance floor. That is Blackhouse. Influenced by Afrika Bambataa and The Soulsonic Force, Kraftwerk, DJ Omega, Knights of the Turntable, Frankie Knuckles, and Kurtis Blow, Blackhouse is dance music with an IQ. Blackhouse is uber-talented Georgia Anne Muldrow and the legendary DJ Romes. Together, the duo created a collection of high-energy, electronic, spiritual music that will resonate with you, literally. “fOnkie Journey” is the first taste: a deep, soaring track with an extended introduction focused around a rising synth line that finally drops into a bass line that is just dripping with fOnk. Delivered via Mello Music Group, this is music to experience, not listen to. Georgia and Romes have found a cross section between house, disco and hip-hop, between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Georgia Anne Muldrow Talks The Madlib Produced “Seeds” [Video]

After a bit of a hiatus, Out Da Box TV returns with one of our strongest interviews yet featuring the amazing producer/vocalist “Georgia Anne Muldrow”. In this episode which is actually Part 1 of a truly in-depth 2 Part series, GAM takes the time to speak affectionately on the importance of the “Seeds/ Children” today. Now this was not constructed to be a typical music interview, I specifically conducted it from an angle that would create dialogue about some of the realer issues affecting our children today, and since Georgia’s music often expresses concern and care for the youth, I felt it fitting to have this kind of discussion with her. In the interview Georgia speaks affectionately on a number of topics including why she chose to speak about The Seeds on her new album, how we can better prepare our children for a successful future, and how to reach our youth who are often vocal in schools and standout from the box that society generally tries to place them in. There’s so much in this interview to absorb, that I don’t think my description can do it the justice it deserves. Please take the time to watch Part 1 of our truly in-depth follow up interview with Georgia Anne Muldrow and be sure to check for Part 2 next week, which will be just as insightful for you to view. We hope you are inspired!
