The next instalment in a series of drops from his brand new album PA2: The Director’s Cut, Marco Polo keeps on with his love of the west, engaging 3 more of Cali’s finest, who take it to a dark place on “Strange Brew”. With hard hitting lyrics from the gutter water duo, Oh No and Alchemist, also know as Gangrene, and aggressive cuts massacred by the one and only DJ Romes (one third of the legendary Lootpack), this song delivers the ruggedness that you’ve have come to expect from Marco Polo collaborations. Although obviously one of his favorite styles of rap to explore in the lab, this song is just one of the many flavors that Marco presents on his 19 track opus, PA2.

Blackhouse (Georgia Anne Muldrow & DJ Romes) – Lectrivunkin [Audio x Download]

This past October, Georgia Anne Muldrow and DJ Romes united as Blackhouse, a crew hellbent on resurrecting the electro-inspired dance-party fun of early hip-hop—with a modern twist. Their eponymous Mello Music Group album was greeted with arms wide open by older heads and young fans alike. For those still out the loop, MMG and Blackhouse offer up “Lectrivunkin” for you to sample. Let the proverbial needle drop on a decent sound system and watch as people’s heads begin to bob, hips start to sway, and vibrations rise. The synth carves deep, producing a sound both beautiful and ominous. The nearly four minute song is vocal-less save for a sample reminding you the energy of this track is “out of control.” Don’t be late to the party, Blackhouse is warmed up and groovin’.
