Combining a variety of sounds from his favorite music genres, this is one of the more unconventional sounding Hip Hop albums, which provides a refreshing and unique listening experience. Tonedeff approaches Hip Hop like a singer/songwriter would approach any other genre by being true to himself. Tone stated that he “raps about what everyone goes through but no one wants to talk about” because mainstream rap is a facade of a lifestyle that musicians cannot afford. On Polymer, Tone vented about personal issues from child abuse to sex addiction and even divorce. One of the more in-depth songs is “Five Sisters” where Tone speaks on the characters of each of his sisters that all represent an element of his mother. Polymer was written, produced, mixed, and engineered by Tonedeff himself.
