Purity Ring x T.Shirt – Shrines [Mixtape]

“T.Shirt‘s sound is rooted in classic New York hip-hop, but he’s never been one to recycle or become stagnant. With each project he’s exploring new territory and looking for creative ways to push himself and listeners. For his latest project, he’s hijacked Purity Rings’ Shrines and made it into a 15-minute mixtape of his own.” Download: Purity Ring x T.Shirt – Shrines

T.Shirt – Rich Hours [Album]

I named the album RICH HOURS because more and more I consider my time here well spent. I heard Cam once talk about his money year, the year everything changes I assume. I haven’t had one yet but there are these days I feel rich. Rich with passion, rich in blessings, in friends, in talent, in love, in motherfucking gall. Just rich. It’s my first time selling a body of music. RICH HOURS is $3. What you might spend on a good egg & cheese, or a colorful rap album. I picked this price because it’s a little more than a couple bucks and still under let’s say $4. You can buy it from Paypal with any of your bank cards or whatever. I would’ve put it on iTunes like a real rapper but they wanted me to sell it for more money (like $8) or put less tracks. I decided to settle for neither. I hope you respect my decision and you’re still happy to support. If not, all good (eh not really), but I hope to catch you on the next one. Purchase: T.Shirt – Rich Hours

T.Shirt Speaks On “The F*ck Album”, “Old Man Angst” & “Ode To Raekwon” [Video]

Our very good friend T shirt paid us a visit at our headquarters. In this interview we discussed his most recent release “The Fuck Album” and the story behind it’s release. We also touched on his creative process and writing inspirations. Specifically he elaborated on “Old Man Angst” as well as the industry’s overwhelming response to “Ode to Raekwon”.

T.Shirt – The F*ck [Free LP]

Download: T.Shirt – The F*ck “The Fuck” sessions, were stolen out of T.Shirt’s car in Miami this past December, along with his MacBook Pro and other valuables. No individual protool sessions meant the songs could never be changed. No updated mixes could be produced, no TV or “clean” versions of tracks could be made, and basically songs had to be released as they were, or scrapped and recorded again from scratch. The album was about 94% done. This is that album. Tracklist after the jump.

T.Shirt – Angst [Video]

I wanted to talk about angst. Two specific scenes inspired this record. One was in Home Alone 2 when Kevin is walking around New York at night for the first time and a homeless man walks past him cursing furiously under his breathe to himself. That exists here and it’s scary, and sad at the same time. The other was the hateful-to-every-race rant Edward Norton gives himself in the bathroom mirror in 25th Hour. That’s where I went lyrically. As far as the feeling, what it took to get to this place, that’s my father and some of the ills he’s described to me. Life beats you down. The shit kicks you in the shins and sometimes you wake up with a wife taking you to court, your kids thinking you’re a piece of shit, your landlord banging on your door, and shitty rap music playing out of someones car outside your window. This record is about getting to a point you dread your existence and how that might feel. It’s Old Man Angst and for some reason it needed to come out of me. – T.Shirt
