Scarface spoke to VladTV years ago about his suicidal past, and the Houston legend continued the conversation again, as he told us that he no longer has those thoughts. Scarface added that he can see how he was so dark years ago, but he added that it’s much harder to live than it is to die. As the conversation continued the “No Problem” lyricist spoke about the lack of support he’s had from his family over the years when it comes to his music. Scarface revealed to us that his parents saw him perform for the first time in 2004, as he was twenty years into his career, and he added that his grandmother has never seen him perform.

Scarface: “Dr. Dre’s Production Is So Good It Pisses Me Off” [Video]

Scarface spoke exclusively to us at VladTV about Rick Rubin’s involvement with the Geto Boys while they were signed to Def American Recordings, and the Houston rapper knew Rick wasn’t feeling his rhymes. Speaking further on the situation, Scarface explained, “I know Rick Rubin ain’t like me as a rapper. He liked Bill and Will, at least that’s what [Jay Z] told me.” The “I Seen a Man Die” emcee also spoke about how he thinks he could’ve gotten the Geto Boys’ Grip It! On That Other Level to be on par with an NWA album had he worked on it a little more. When DJ Vlad points out that Scarface’s group didn’t have someone like Dr. Dre, the Houston emcee admits that Dre’s production is so impressive it pisses him off. Scarface Gives J. Prince 90% Credit For Geto Boys’ Early Music [Video]

Legendary rapper Scarface “was pretty deep” in the street life when the Geto Boys came out with their debut album, 1988’s Making Trouble. In this exclusive clip, the Houston lyricist reflects back on the group’s early days, and thanks Rap-A-Lot Records CEO James Prince for the guys’ success. “I give him 90% of the credit of all of the material that came out of the early Geto Boys s***, because that s** was his mind. I just rapped that s***,” Scarface tells us. The seasoned artist then goes on to talk about J. Prince’s dealings with Drake and Diddy. Scarface says he didn’t recognize the man that threatened Diddy after his altercation with Drizzy, summing it all up to J. Prince simply “getting old.”

Scarface: “I’ll Officially Never Do Another Geto Boys Album” [Video]

Scarface has made it no secret that he’s a perfectionist when it comes to his music, and the Houston legend believes that “I Seen A Man Die” was his only perfect track. Scarface explained that while he loved being a part of the Geto Boys, he felt like all of his songs during his time with the group were “rushed.” During the conversation he also addressed rumors that he was going to do a new Geto Boys album, which Scarface said was officially off the table now. He explained that it had nothing to do with the Kickstarter campaign and the Southern emcee said it had more to do with him putting the focus back on himself. The second half of the interview Scarface shared his reaction to hearing The D.O.C.’s voice again, and the Houston spitter said that it brought tears to his eyes to hear the “It’s Funky Enough” emcee regain his voice. Scarface Reveals He Was Supposed To Be On Kanye’s “Jesus Walks” [Video]

After hearing of Kanye’s plans to run for president in 2020, Scarface told VladTV, “Me knowing Kanye like I know Kanye, Kanye will say any motherf***ing thing.” The Houston emcee added that “He’ll do it,” before dropping an explosive bombshell about Kanye originally planning to feature him on “Jesus Walks.” When asked why things didn’t work out, Scarface explained that he believes that he got tied up at the time, which is something that Jay Z always teases him about when they see each other. The “On My Block” rapper also told us that he was afraid of his own success at the time after seeing what it did to others around him.
