Sadat X Describes His “Never Left” Album [Video]

Sadat X was our special guest on @RapIsOuttaCntrl. We had co-hosts DJ Eclipse and Chris Rivers run the show alongside J57 and Carla Keyz. Eclipse started off with discussing Sadat’s longevity as an artist who arrived on the scene in 1989. The group discussed how hip hop needs to be embraced as a long-term genre like classical music that still gets praised after hundreds of years. Sadat talked about his latest album, Never Left, and the single “Your Best Friend’s Girl” which is one of Eclipse’s favorites. The album is executive produced by Fokis and features Black Rob, King T, Cormega, Lanelle Tyler, Stryfe, Nachy Bless, Chi Ali, Fokis, Maverick, Dres, Craig G, Skyzoo, and Tony Mays. Sadat X feat. Cormega – On Fire [Video]

Sadat X has spent the last two years preparing an album a whole generation of Hip-Hop fans have been waiting for. On January 20, 2015 Sadat will deliver “Never Left”, a project that celebrates his illustrious career and serves as a testament to New York City’s continued ability to fit in today’s musical landscape. Sadat conceptualized the project with Fokis after the two had worked together on several projects under Fokis’ Loyalty Digital Corp. imprint. The idea was simple, “a lot of people have the perception that at some point you’re supposed to just turn it off like a switch,” explains the Brand Nubian co-founder.”I still love Hip-Hop every day, I’m still Hip-Hop every day. It’s my lifestyle, it’s what I grew up on. So I just tried to transcribe that through music and let people in my generation know that it’s okay to still love rap. You don’t have to be trapped by what’s played on the radio or the mainstream. There’s something out there for you.”

Nutso feat. Sadat X – No Limit [Stream]

The transition between local act and international fame is what most artists vie for, but few actually accomplish. While most rappers decide to stay in their lane and refrain from traveling outside of their their comfort zone, Nutso and Sadat X prefer to throw caution to the wind and take their talents worldwide. With both emcees having a history of collaborating with European producers, “No Limit,” finds the Wild Cowboy, Sadat X, and the Q-Borough spitter, Nutso, connecting with the Swedish duo, Terminal Five. The track sticks to Nut’s rugged n’ raw style of spitting flames over a hardbody beat, while Sadat adds his trademark, unorthodox, yet technical flow, allowing heads both old and new to get down on this transatlantic banger. “No Limit” is now available for download through all major digital retailers.
