iLL Chris feat. Curtis Williams – We Do Not Play [Audio]

Seattle rapper iLL Chris has been on a serious hot streak this past year or so, releasing a fire album, Honor Thy Father, along with a number of loose bangers to his fanbase. That includes his latest drop, the hypnotic “We Do Not Play,” which features Two-9’s Curtis Williams, alongside thumping production provided by 808 Mafia’s, 808 Banks. When you see the names iLL Chris and 808 Banks together, you know you’re in for a big track, outfitted with a booming low-end and plenty of bravado. And sure enough, “We Do Not Play” delivers all that and much more. Chris’ knack for writing catchy hooks is on full display here, and you just know that this song will take on another life as part of his always-crazy live shows. And then there’s the guest verse from Williams, who opens the song with breakneck bars, laden with slick wordplay. He’s been having one hell of a year, too, and his Two-9 crew recently dropped their acclaimed debut album, FRVR. Be sure to give that a listen if you haven’t yet—it’s one of 2017’s best releases date. “We Do Not Play” is not available through all major digital retailers and streaming outlets, via Connoisseurs League Music/EMPIRE Distribution.

iLL Chris – Honor Thy Father [Album]

Well-known for his raucous live shows and don’t-give-a-f*ck attitude, Seattle’s iLL Chris channeled that live-wire energy into his much anticipated new album, ‘Honor Thy Father.’ And for listeners who got hip to his music with late 2015’s massive “Pull Up,” it’s the perfect end result of nearly a year’s worth of campaigning. Fittingly, it’s actually “Pull Up” that opens the album, and it does so in a major way. Armed with top-level bravado and a monstrous beat from BlackKeyCartel, Chris and frequent collaborator RudeAssMogli do what they do best: wyl’ the hell out. Their off-the-wall antics don’t end there, either, because ‘HTF’ is stacked with bangers from start to finish. With beats from the likes of Young Forever and Metro Boomin & Banks (of 808 Mafia), the record rarely takes a break from punishing your speakers (in a good way, of course). While the huge production is certainly noteworthy, it wouldn’t be quite as successful without a singular voice tying it all together. That’s where Chris and his stark, trap house-filled narrative takes center stage. In addition to flexing some clever boasts and punch lines—”Numbers” featuring Dougie F. is particularly brutal in this sense—the Seattle rapper showcases a dextrous flow that reminds us why he was a former ‘King of Seattle’ battle champ. ‘HTF’ is more than just braggadocio and bangers, though. There’s a frustrated mind lurking beneath the conceits—just listen to the great “Million Bands” with Tre Ross—in addition to one that clearly knows how to create a cohesive,

iLL Chris feat. RudeAssMogli & Nate G – Gravel [Audio]

Known for his raucous and party-starting bangers, iLL Chris keeps the mayhem going with new single “Gravel,” which features rowdy appearances from frequent collaborators RudeAssMogli and Nate G. These three Seattle rappers are well-versed in the art of wylin’—peep Chris performing “Pull Up” with Mogli—and they’re clearly not about to slow down. At least, that’s the mantra driven home by Chris, who likens his constant grind to the check on his Nikes before passing the mic to the always-wild Mogli. Spitting through a vocal effect, he handles the hook and second verse like a man possessed, perhaps catching the holy spirit from the beat supplied Metro Boomin and Banks (of 808 Mafia). The same can be said for Nate, whose bars are hilariously disrespectful. In addition to being all up in your girl’s call log, he makes it clear that he knows how to make your mama cry. Like previous singles “Pull Up,” “Numbers,” and “Eurostep,” you’ll be able to find “Gravel” on Chris’ much anticipated new album, ‘Honor Thy Father.’ “Gravel” is now available for stream and download through all major streaming portals and digital retailers. Stay tuned for the release of ‘Honor Thy Father’ which is set to drop towards the end of the summer, courtesy of EMPIRE Distribution.

iLL Chris feat. Dougie F – Numbers [Audio]

When it comes to crafting hard-bodied bangers made for raucous live shows, few rappers can top the seemingly endless energy emanating from iLL Chris. Time and time again, the Seattle rapper has shown his ability to craft massive singles. Sure enough, that remains true with his latest drop, “Numbers,” which features New Jersey spitter, Dougie F. It’s actually Dougie who opens the track with the sing-along hook and a tongue-twisting verse demonstrating exactly what these two MCs have on their side: 100 b*tches, 100 racks, and 100 n***as. In other words, you probably shouldn’t mess with their women or money, otherwise you’ll have, well, a ton of dudes coming for you. So if you do cross Dougie and Chris, that one’s on you. As for Chris, he’s still gearing up to release his new project, ‘Honor Thy Father,’ which keeps sounding better with every preview. Of course, “Numbers” continues that trend in spades, thanks in part to the production work of frequent collaborator Young Forever. These two have made some of the year’s heaviest cuts so far—check out Chris’ Soundcloud for reference—and they’re pretty much guaranteeing that ‘Honor Thy Father’ will be a problem. “Numbers” is available for streaming now, while ‘Honor Thy Father’ is due out this summer.

iLL Chris feat. Mogli – Pull Up [Video]

Seattle rappers iLL Chris and Mogli turn all the way up in the visuals for “Pull Up,” the high powered single set to appear on Chris’ forthcoming project, ‘Honor Thy Father.’ The Wiggy-directed video centers on all-out mayhem from the two Emerald City residents, who both stunt in every which way. It’s only fitting, of course, given the track’s massive production value, which is supplied by BlackKeyCartel. And here, it sets the tone for scenes filled with blinged-out bikes, bottles upon bottles of Henny, and more partying than any weekend warrior could handle. When Chris spits “Bitch, I’m-a turn up!/ Bitch, I’m-a turn up!”, you definitely believe it. You can’t blame the kid, either, as he’s been on a hot streak of late with other ‘Honor Thy Father’ drops such as “Eurostep” and “Look At My Stats.” Not one to overlook reality, though, the video opens with a dedication to Chris’ late friend, Nils Felix Goodwin, who tragically passed away this past December, following the making of this video. Be on the lookout for more leaks and video’s taken from ‘Honor Thy Father.’

iLL Chris feat. Mackned – Eurostep [Audio]

iLL Chris’ latest speaker-punishing banger, “Eurostep,” is the new anthem for anyone tired of lames, fakes, and phonies tryin’ to bring that bullsh*t when they probably know better. It’s also the third leak off his upcoming project, ‘Honor Thy Father.’ Joined by fellow Seattle rapper Mackned on the hook, Chris utilizes Young Forever’s huge instrumental to his advantage in more ways than one (similar to what we heard on previous drop “Look At My Stats.” Chris isn’t afraid to switch up his flow, which he does deftly here, and offer some worldly advice for his listeners: when anyone crosses you, just give ‘em the Eurostep like Ginobili. For the non-sports fans reading this, that’s a reference to San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili (do your googles!). Speaking of, try keeping up with these bars: “Manu Ginobili, I’m outtie like I’m Kobe/ Matter fact I’m outtie like a f*ckin’ Audi/ Rowdy, rowdy, ‘bout it, ‘bout it/ ‘Bout to pipe her like I’m Rowdy Roddy.” iLL Chris’ ‘Honor They Father’ LP is due out this March…stay tuned!
