DJ Tereza shares a new mixtape titled, “BADUOLOGY: An Ode To Erykah Badu”. Says Tereza: “Baduizm was designed to get you high – just by listening to the music!” Happy Birthday, Erykah Badu – over 25 years in the business and still State of the Art, uncompromising, fearless, constantly evolving and truly inspiring to whole generations of musicians. BADUOLOGY is my personal ode to the ‘analogue girl in the digital world’ in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her debut album ‘Baduizm’ which is still one of my all-time-favorite LPs. It features some of Queen E’s most significant work from the past two decades, alongside songs sampled on Badu records as well as unique skits and blends, all edited and mixed by myself. The Land O.S.T. [Album Stream]

The latest project from hip-hop icon Nas is ambitious even by his standards. Queens’ finest is the executive producer of the new feature film The Land and its star-studded original soundtrack. The Land, an independent film by first-time director Steven Caple Jr., follows four Cleveland inner-city teen friends – Cisco (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.), Junior (Moises Arias), Boobie (Ezri Walker), and Patty Cake (Rafi Gavron) – determined to turn their passion for skateboarding into their No. 1 priority. The soundtrack, however, looks like anything but an indie affair. Featuring superstars like Kanye West, Pusha T, French Montana, Erykah Badu, Jeremih and the movie’s executive producer, the songs’ topics cover various stages of the game, in turn creating a narrative of the struggles faced in realizing a dream. There’s a rawness at play throughout, interweaving a range of vibes from Alina Baraz & Galimatias’ dreamy electro-soul “Fantasy” to the hyped, yet rigid collaboration “Paid” by Pusha T and Jeremih, to Nas and Badu’s agonizing, yet genuine and hopeful ode to inner-city living, “This Bitter Land.” (Badu is also the film’s co-executive producer with Machine Gun Kelly.) The Land, in stores and streaming beginning July 29, is a rare accomplishment: a soundtrack that brings the story of its film to life, and creates one of its own at the same time. It’s an experience full of rich, raw stories about fighting to strive, and using one’s environment as an influence, not a distraction.

Mass Appeal Records is set to release the soundtrack for the Priority Pictures/IFC Films, “The Land” on July 29th in conjunction with the film’s release. The highly anticipated, coming-of-age film as well as the soundtrack has Nas on board as executive producer. The new song “This Bitter Land” features powerful performances from Erykah Badu and Nas over a lush and brooding orchestration from the composer of the film’s score, JB Bontemps. The official track list for the soundtrack of “The Land” consists of 14 songs featuring a diverse array of artists including Nas, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Pusha T, French Montana, Machine Gun Kelly, Jeremih, Dave East, Alina Baraz, Nosaj Thing, Ezzy and Jerreau. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., the Sundance Film Festival favorite “The Land” stars Erykah Badu, Machine Gun Kelly, Michael K Williams (The Wire), Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy) and more. The film follows a group of Cleveland teenagers who embark on a journey to achieve their dreams of becoming professional skateboarders.

JSOUL – JSOUL Remixed It [Mixtape]

As a kid born in 1980 and being privileged to witness Hip Hop’s rise from its start into the Golden Era & beyond, JSOUL wanted to pay homage by taking it back to a time where lyrics mattered and the beats were crafted to paint pictures with cinematic accuracy. In Hip Hop, the beats made you fall in love with the artist just as much as the artist made you fall in love with the beats. JSOUL tells us, “When I first started producing music, I made up in my mind that I wanted to make music that gave me the same feeling I had when I first heard, ‘Enter The Wu’, ‘Illmatic’, ‘Ready To Die’, ‘Midnight Marauders’, ‘Reasonable Doubt’, ‘Doe Or Die’, ‘My Life’, ‘Do You Want More’, ‘Fantastic Vol. 2’, ‘Like Water For Chocolate’, ‘The Score’, ‘Baduizm’, etc. Those were the albums that were the soundtrack to my life when I was in high school growing into a man. That head nod, that feel good, that real.” On his new remix project, ‘JSOUL Remixed It’, JSOUL pays homage to that time and attempts to be a bridge from the music lovers of his generation to the future generation of hip hop heads. “I wanted cats from my era to hear these re imagined songs and fall in love with the songs all over again. Take them back with new beats and never lose the integrity of the song. I wanted to match each artists feel perfectly but with
