Bas feat. Blxckie & ASAP Ferg – U-Turn [Video]
Dreamville’s Bas returns with a music video for “U-Turn”, featuring ASAP Ferg and Blxckie.
Directed by Ryan Doubiago Bishara and iloobia, the video was filmed across five continents during Bas’s journeys, where he entrusted the creative direction to carefully selected artists.
“Once all the footage for the video was shot on 16mm and 35mm celluloid film by Ryan, all the reels were sent to my studio. There I chopped up the pristine physical film to build giant celluloid collages, painting, scratching and generally vandalising it along the way,” iloobia says. “The trickiest part was that the collages had to be designed to play perfectly in synch with the track when rephotographed frame by frame. Finally after photographing all the collages I dropped them into a digital edit where I did a final layer of moves, zooms and pans. It was a crazily long and laborious process, with all kinds of unique problems to solve, but so worth it.”
