Masta Ace & Marco Polo feat. Stricklin, Speech & E Smitty – Life Music [Video]
Masta Ace and Marco Polo have just announced they will be dropping a new LP, titled “Richmond Hill”, on January 26.
It showcases contributions from a diverse array of artists, including appearances by Inspectah Deck, Coast Contra, Blu, Ché Noir, Speech of Arrested Development, as well as Masta Ace’s enduring collaborators Stricklin and Wordsworth, among others.
Accompanying the announcement of the album, they unveiled the initial single from the project, titled “Life Music” featuring Stricklin, E Smitty, and Speech (from Arrested Development). Set against a dynamic backdrop of warm electric piano, lively organs, and celestial vocal harmonies, “Life Music” serves as a direct counter to the prevailing negativity found in the endless scroll of digital content. Masta Ace aims to shift the energy, underscoring the preciousness of life with the lyrics, “There’s only one choice, that’s life, hope you pickin’ it”. In his own verse, Stricklin, a longstanding collaborator of Ace, recounts a harrowing near-death experience while on tour and his arduous journey to recovery.
