Joy Denalane – The Show [Audio]
R&B songstress Joy Denalane comes through with her latest single, “The Show”.
In the melancholy, shimmering soul ballad “The Show”, Joy sings, appropriately dramatically orchestrated, about a decisive moment in every parent-child relationship: “It’s about the moment, where children notice: My parents are just as questionable and flawed as I am, ”she says. “When children become teenagers, their parents’ hero status is rightly questioned. With “The Show” I say to my children: Please see to it that I, too, am only a part of the show, a part of the system we live in – and as such fallible. “The Show” therefore wants the shock of this realization to tone it down for the children and help them navigate the complexities of life, ”says Joy.
