Logic Talks “100 Miles & Running”, Wale, How To Fast Rap, Much Dank, J.I.D, Sampling & More [Video]

Here is another clip of Logic’s interview with Hard Knock TV’s Nick Huff Barili.

This is episode 6, where Logic breaks down his track “100 Miles & Running”. This is day 2 of our interview which takes places a couple days after Logic’s YSIV has been release. Conversation starts with Logic talking about receiving a call from Ghostface and RZA of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, congratulating him on the album release. As the conversations evolves Logic breaks down “100 Miles & Running”, how important it was for him to collaborate with Wale, whom he looked up to coming up in DC and how he went back and added a third verse to the track because Wale went off in his verse and Logic didn’t want to be outdone. Logic talks about how Wale lit a fire under him with his flow and how a friendly competition is great for the track. Logic breaks down his fast rapping in this song and also in Gang Related, saying that he first wrote some of the verse in “100 Miles & Running” when he was 15 and that he performs it on tour to showoff his rhyming skills but that he didn’t feel like he truly mastered fast rhyming until he recorded Gang Related, when he was 24 years old. Logic goes on to explain that a lot of the songs he has created that aren’t out are like practice to him the way Kobe or Jordan put up shots in the gym that you never see to get ready for the game. He also wants to let fans know that his mixtapes aren’t on Spotify or Apple Music because they contain a bunch of samples that haven’t been cleared. As episode 6 comes to an end Logic shouts out Much Dank whom he thinks is a hilarious troll and Dreamville rapper J.I.D and says that he appreciates J.I.D and that he is really dropping BARS!
