Fluent – Now You Know [Video]

Los Angeles-by-way-of-North Carolina rapper Fluent spits some serious game to a lady who’s caught his attention in his new video for “Now You Know”, a bravado-laced banger off his “Carolinafornia Nightmare” album. With the team at VisionTwentyFilms behind the lens, Flu makes his way across town in his latest set of visuals to not only get his love interest’s attention, but to also make sure the world hears about it. That message is really at the core of “Now You Know”, one of many highlights from his late 2016 full-length. “Now You Know” is produced by D.R.U.G.S., who layers the instrumental with nostalgic guitar lines and slapping drums. It’s the perfect combination for Flu to do his thing, which clearly works in his favor if the video’s outcome (and the lady’s affection) are any indication. Check out the visuals now for “Now You Know”, and head over to the digital retailer or streaming platform of your choice to support his “Carolinafornia Nightmare” LP, which includes guest features by the likes of Blu, Yung L.A., Lantana, and more!

iLL Chris feat. Curtis Williams – We Do Not Play [Audio]

Seattle rapper iLL Chris has been on a serious hot streak this past year or so, releasing a fire album, Honor Thy Father, along with a number of loose bangers to his fanbase. That includes his latest drop, the hypnotic “We Do Not Play,” which features Two-9’s Curtis Williams, alongside thumping production provided by 808 Mafia’s, 808 Banks. When you see the names iLL Chris and 808 Banks together, you know you’re in for a big track, outfitted with a booming low-end and plenty of bravado. And sure enough, “We Do Not Play” delivers all that and much more. Chris’ knack for writing catchy hooks is on full display here, and you just know that this song will take on another life as part of his always-crazy live shows. And then there’s the guest verse from Williams, who opens the song with breakneck bars, laden with slick wordplay. He’s been having one hell of a year, too, and his Two-9 crew recently dropped their acclaimed debut album, FRVR. Be sure to give that a listen if you haven’t yet—it’s one of 2017’s best releases date. “We Do Not Play” is not available through all major digital retailers and streaming outlets, via Connoisseurs League Music/EMPIRE Distribution.
