21 Savage – Racks In My Pocket [Video]

21 Savage is currently on a career high, or at least a rapid climb, as the XXL Freshman has quickly propelled himself ahead of his 2016 class thanks in most part to his brand new album with MVP Metro Boomin. Savage Mode dropped on Friday and has been heavy in rotation ever since, while every single rapper is left to sullenly vie for their own joint project with Metro. Prior to Savage’s quick ascension, we had the rapper at the HNHH headquarters where he shot his On The Come Up interview, and hit the booth. We announced our inaugural On The Come Up mixtape, On The Come Up Vol. 1, the other week with Madeintyo’s freestyle. Today we’re leaking another record that’ll appear on the compilation mixtape, this time 21 Savage’s original cut with “Best Friend” producer (and generally dope producer) Ricky Racks for “Racks In My Pocket”– a song that honestly wouldn’t sound too out of place on Savage Mode, so go ahead and add it to your Savage playlist.

Sash – Black Caviar [EP]

Bay Area-by-way-of-Ukraine rapper SASH is ready to make some noise with his latest project, “Black Caviar”, which is brimming with witty wordplay and shimmering bangers made for late nights and wild parties. Chances are you may recognize the name on the strength of the EP’s standout singles, “Mona Lisa” and “Make Her Say”. Both portray the young spitter as a man of style who enjoys indulging on more than a few substances, hence the cheekily named “Mona Lisa”. And even though these two tracks help to introduce SASH and his approach to the world, they don’t necessarily tell the whole story. As SASH tells it, he’s influenced equally by the good and bad he’s seen. “Everything I rap about in my songs is taken directly from my life experiences, things that have happened to me,” he explains. And even though he was more introspective on “Days and Days,” he doesn’t see his lifestyle slowing down in the near future. For SASH, “The grind never stops.” As mentioned, the kid hails from the Ukraine, a war-torn country in Eastern Europe that he acknowledges on several BC joints, but especially on the lavish “Make Her Say” when he raps: “You don’t need a plan when survival ain’t an option/ You don’t understand, you ain’t from the places I been/ Eastern European Union tellin’ you what’s poppin’.” Hearing this opens your ears to someone who’s clearly been through some shit—but who’s also living it up through partying, sex, and drugs. At least, that

Saint Joe feat. West Philly Freck & Hypnautic – Being Real [Video]

For as long as the genre’s been around, rap has been deeply connected with authenticity and the idea of “being real.” And for Denver rapper Saint Joe, it’s a concept he both takes to heart and explores in his new music video for “Being Real” featuring West Philly Freck and Hypnautic (of acclaimed Colorado crew Top Flite Empire). Through a lens that harks back to VHS-like distortion, the three emcees share camera time while portraying realness through metaphorical imagery, sleek editing, and performance footage. In between shots of the rappers delivering their wordplay-laden verses, there are clear nods to mid-’90s crime film ‘Dead Presidents’ and the power of money. “Being Real” boasts a strings-laden, sample-flipping instrumental from Dialectic, and the track itself will appear on Joe’s upcoming album, ‘Thinning Out The Heard,’ which is set to drop Aug 5 through all major digital retailers via Joe’s K.R.A.K Productions, LLC imprint. The project also features the previous released single, “Homicide Fetish,” a gritty tune featuring Chris Rivers and Chino XL. “Being Real” can now be purchased off the iTunes pre-order for ‘Thinning Out the Heard,’ as the project’s second instant grat track. Stay tuned for more song leaks and visuals!
