They think I’m a white guy.” He says if he gets his credit score up to 800 he’s gonna buy hip hop, going in on a deal with Jay- Z, saying “I got the credit, he got the money!”. and even describes what he would do if he did buy it. Tonio Sagan & Gems Geneva feat. Warrior King – Frenemies [Audio x Download]

Tonio Sagan and Gems Geneva join forces with Warrior King on “Frenemies”. With the temperatures rising across the country and spring in full effect, the timing couldn’t be better for the warmth and sharpness of “Frenemies,” the new single from frequent collaborators Tonio Sagan and Gems Geneva. The hypnotic dancehall cut also features guest vocals from reggae mainstay Warrior King, who melodically outlines those “pretendin’ friends” everyone’s had in their lives at some point. Not all frenemies are made equal, though, as King sings that “some sell their friends out for silver and gold.” Others, however, have far worse intentions, though you can’t let those “bloodsuckas” shake your faith. The aforementioned warmth of “Frenemies” resides in the instrumental crafted by Sagan and fellow Massachusetts-based producers Gems Geneva. Together, they bring an authentic canvas for King, who hails from Clarendon, Jamaica. Not only that, but they’re further showcasing their ability to build such soundscapes, something Sagan really drove home with his epic single, “Stuff Dreams Are Made Of.”

However, before ‘Segundo Naturale’ can get down with the funk nasty, someone’s gotta tuck in those muthafluffin’ chitlins. The track also features some soulfully intergalactic production from @ju-ar, and sultry saxophone notes from @jessiesalas.

Donnie Trumpet feat. Sima Cunningham – In Your Light [Audio x Download]

“One of my best friends and musical mentors, Maceo from the band The Omys gave me a mix cd when i was going through a tough time with a song called Donna by Prince. I listened to the song over and over in the car. I never imported the cd, could only hear it in the car, so when i tried listening to it on tour i couldn’t find it anywhere. As you know Prince’s music is pretty rare on the internet but this song was especially elusive because it was a part of a compilation album of his “unfinished” music. This was a really powerful inspiration for me after having worked so hard on Surf and still having so much material left over that didn’t quite fit but still described my vision and passion of the era of making music when putting Surf together. Songs are like poems, they’re never done. In honor of that song and all songs like it, and the earth claiming one of the greatest humans to ever grace its land, Prince…I dedicate this to everyone who will ever hear it.” – Donnie Trumpet
