Tonio Sagan and Gems Geneva join forces with Warrior King on “Frenemies”.

With the temperatures rising across the country and spring in full effect, the timing couldn’t be better for the warmth and sharpness of “Frenemies,” the new single from frequent collaborators Tonio Sagan and Gems Geneva.

The hypnotic dancehall cut also features guest vocals from reggae mainstay Warrior King, who melodically outlines those “pretendin’ friends” everyone’s had in their lives at some point. Not all frenemies are made equal, though, as King sings that “some sell their friends out for silver and gold.” Others, however, have far worse intentions, though you can’t let those “bloodsuckas” shake your faith.

The aforementioned warmth of “Frenemies” resides in the instrumental crafted by Sagan and fellow Massachusetts-based producers Gems Geneva. Together, they bring an authentic canvas for King, who hails from Clarendon, Jamaica. Not only that, but they’re further showcasing their ability to build such soundscapes, something Sagan really drove home with his epic single, “Stuff Dreams Are Made Of.”
