G-Eazy Talks About Meeting Jay-Z [Video]

G-Eazy tells us about having dinner with Jay Z, and dropping three songs at once. We caught up with Young Gerald aka G-Eazy shortly before he unleashed a trifecta of new music on his Soundcloud. The rapper brought us up to speed on what he’s been up to lately, which apparently includes hitting up a steakhouse with Hov. “Man, I met Jay Z and was hella star struck. I had dinner with him, and it was exactly what you’d think. He’s him, literally. We’re at a steakhouse in Midtown eating lobster, we’re talking about gangsta movies, we’re talking about basketball, and he’s telling a story about Suge Knight. Literally, like, is this real right now?” G-Eazy says of the one-on-one with Jay. Apart from having dinners with one of the greatest, G-Eazy has been studio-obsessed. Obviously, since, whenever he drops something, it tends to be a three-for-one deal. “We’re just sitting on so much music, and it’s like, while people have to wait for the album we wanna give them something. I just like dropping three songs at a time,” he says of the move. The Bay Area native also expands on one those recent releases, “Running,” where he raps about spending time in New Orleans.
