Rapsody Weighs In On Lil Wayne Joining The Universal Zulu Nation [Video]

Late last year, rapper Q-Tip announced that Lil Wayne had been officially inducted into the Universal Zulu Nation. The Tribe Called Quest rapper explained Weezy’s induction as a “voice that can help in these urgent times.” In the latest segment of Rapsody’s interview with VladTV, the North Carolina native speaks about Wayne’s newfound affiliation with Zulu Nation. She touches on his generous contribution within communities, and describes his initiation into the organization as a major plus for his diehard fans, mainly because they can attain so much knowledge and awareness not only about unity, but also about philanthropy work as well. Afrika Bambaataa: “Radio Refuses To Play More Political Hip-Hop” [Video]

The legendary Afrika Bambaataa sat down with VladTV recently to share his thoughts on the past-popularity of political/socially conscious records and the decline of today’s artists willing to embrace it, with Bambaataa feeling that today’s radio conglomerates have contributed to its lack of popularity by refusing to play records that fall out of line with the status quo. Even when a modern day rapper such as Immortal Technique chooses to address serious issues, his records will be ignored by radio which will always limit the amount of people who hear and embrace the music.
