Tree – Police Mon [Audio]

Tree is back at it with a new record titled “Police Mon”. Says Tree: “this song is a real conversation starter. after working with tye hill in the studio for a few sessions of freestyling and punch recording, i began to get back to the old tree. the one who had something to say that was relevant to us all. in that session i came up with this hook that was both socially conscious and an obvious understatement. with all thats going on with our urban communities involving the police, i thought it be only right to say how i feel. and more than that i began to have debates days before with my white friends about their take on the isue of constant killings of young black men by police officers in america and the world. truth is i do have white friends and counterparts that i both adore and value and im positive that the feeling is mutual. what i found in conversation with these white friends is yea they definetly think somethings wrong or not right and somehow unfair, they just dont know how to help or be effective.. some even ask what can i do, what can i say?? who can i talk too.. at that moment were both often presented with an uneasy silence because i dont have the answer either. but what i can and often do tell them is say something!! denounce it on your social media’s and have these discussions with other

Tree – Pac Dilla [Stream]

After years of comparisons by writer after writer regarding either tree’s production style or his raspy voice or his tales of life in the cabrini green projects. Tree unveils PAC DILLA the two comparisons he cherishes the most. Tree links with fellow chicago producer illeet on what was supposed to be a savemoney output by way of sterling haze that never flourished.. Anyhow these 2 linked up earlier this year on “Platinum Chains” and now iLLeeT and TREE are back as they liberate this heater that’s been stashed in the Grindhouse vaults.

Vic Spencer & Tree – Weed & Clothes [Stream]

It’s almost time for the world to witness two of the most prolific MCs from Chicago shake a planet (as Vic would say) with a EP entitled “VicTree (Victory)”, which drops Tuesday 6/30. This Weed & Clothes should be able to hold us off, but when I spoke to Vic he told me that he’s been holding this record for 3 years. “Yeah, we recorded that at Tree crib 3 years ago in his living room”, Vic says as he reflected on how him and Tree started recording together. “Tree always wants to record-he’s one of the most hard working guys I know. Tree chooses the artist that he likes to do projects with and thats what VicTree is. Vic Spencer on a visit to soultrapville. It’s so different than anything that I’ve dropped. But I remained myself the entire visit.” “Weed & Clothes” is the beginning of a classic project. We will leave it at that.
