MC Lyte Addresses Tyler, The Creator’s Comments About Her [Video]

MC Lyte sat down with VladTV and shared her reaction to Tyler, the Creator’s line from the song “Rella” where he said, “let’s get it poppin’ like MC Lyte around some d*kes.” Lyte seems to be unbothered by the comment, saying people have the right to say whatever they want, but she considers herself to be a respectful person and wouldn’t speak about others that way. She also says she has thick skin from being in the biz for so long and knows she’ll be fine, as she doesn’t let social media or nonsense in general get her upset.

Raekwon Speaks On New Album, “Fly International Luxurious Art” [Video]

Legendary rhyme spitter Raekwon chopped it up with VladTV while on the red carpet celebrating the 20th anniversary of his “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” album. The Wu-Tang spitter spoke on documenting the experience of making the album all those years ago and sharing that footage with fans today. He also spoke on the Grammys, saying he respects every artist working hard at their craft, saying the harder one works, the greater the rewards will be in the end. He then spoke on his own upcoming solo album, Fly International Luxurious Art, to be released in April.

LL Cool J On Raekwon Being An Icon & Going Strong After 20 Years [Video]

We caught up with rap legend LL Cool J on the red carpet for the 20th anniversary celebration of Raekwon’s seminal debut Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. The Long Island native couldn’t name a favorite track on the project, saying he loved the whole body of work. “That album was just so iconic, and Rae is just so iconic…I can’t really pick a favorite, I just used to bump it all day in the car, ” he added. Speaking more on Raekwon, LL said he loves the idea of hip hop artists having longevity and evolving over the course of their careers, and he’s just happy to be here to support the Chef.
