Academy Award winning actor, Adrien Brody, made his way to Sway in the Morning yesterday and proved to us why he cannot be put in a box. Sway’s Shade 45 morning show is also known to be eclectic, so it was only right that Adrien blew our mind and played his beats while the legendary Souls of Mischief freestyled over them! Adrien Brody’s new TV Movie “Houdini” premiers September 1 (and September 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), a two-part miniseries on the History Channel, chronicling the life of the legendary escape artist. Plus, Souls of Mischief’s new album “There Is Only Now” released earlier this week, produced by Adrian Younge. Their project draws influence from soul artists Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield, but also from genres such as gangsta rap, hip-hop and R&B.

After asked if they expected No Flex Zone to be as large of a hit as it is now, the Mississippi duo responded: “Yeah, we definitely wasn’t joking around when we made that joint. We was trying to come up withs something that was going to be new lingo and that sh*t was successful.” Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter of legendary songstress Diana Ross, recently posted a video reciting the lyrics to Swae & Slim’s “No Flex Zone” record, toward the later portion of the video Tracee just looked muddled. Rae Sremmurd were convinced that despite Tracee’s confusion she “understands it”. “The crazy thing is she understands it. Because the way she singing it. She turnt’ up with it. She #sremlife right now.” Swae Lee took a step further and broke down the definition of “No Flex Zone” is and why you should always be a trendsetter. “You aint gotta put yourself in a box. You can just press the lines and try something new. Be a trend setter, and just be your self — everybody’s gonna love you.”
