Iamsu! Talks Drifting Away From LoveRance [Video]

Iamsu! opens up about his relationship with former HBK rapper LoveRance and how his song “Up” came together. He reveals that he was in the studio with LoveRance, who was spitting game to two girls, and they started playing around with the beat and song, which came together in 30 minutes. Su reveals that because his mom is a teacher and she would “get on his neck” about the overtly sexual song, he convinced LoveRance to put it out as his track. The song then blew up and 50 Cent jumped on the track after LoveRance was signed to Interscope. When asked about what happened with him and LoveRance, Iamsu! explains that they were on different paths in their careers. He felt that ‘Rance was focused on himself, while ‘Su was trying to get his HBK crew together. Iamsu! also says that he probably won’t work on music with his former friend in the future, but adds that he has “nothing but love” for him.
