Quentin Tarantino Responds To “Django Unchained” Criticism [Video]

Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained made quite an impression on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — the homage to spaghetti westerns was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Original Screen Play. Even though Django was a box office hit, Tarantino fell under harsh criticism for the film’s heavy subject matter and violence. HipHollywood sat down with the film’s director who shared his reaction to the negative reviews and criticism. “It was a very violent brutal time in American’s history, frankly, I pulled back the violence — the audience probably couldn’t handle how violent it was,” he revealed.
