Read moreWith the release of their new single “Dirty Stayout,” which is accompanied with a hilarious visual, Tanya Morgan prove once again that they are one of the most consistently dope and clever Hip-Hop groups doing it today. The duo of Von Pea and Donwill made yet another splash last year with the release of their “Abandoned Theme Park” project, but they’re going even bigger with their forthcoming full- length, “YGWY$4”. And the much-anticipated album is off to a beyond-strong start with “Dirty Stayout,” a playful look into one-night stands and the misconceptions plenty of us can relate to. Bolstered by the beat’s mix of keys and drums, the two rappers deliver rhymes that are just as sharp as they are gut-busting. Those include a riff on a classic Tribe Called Quest line when Von raps, “If you need ‘em, I got crazy prophylactics/ And a fat d—hold on, hold on, how fresh.” His and Don’s sense of humor permeates the track and its video, which centers on two women in the year 2050 reminiscing on their dates with the emcees. We don’t want to spoil anything, but needless to say, everything doesn’t go according to plan. At least, that’s definitely the case with Don, who takes playing the ukulele a little too seriously. Check out the visuals and head over to the digital retailer of your choice to pre-order Tanya Morgan’s latest opus, “YGWY$4”, which is due out July 28!

Read moreOne year to the day ago, Brooklyn rap duo Tanya Morgan released their critically-acclaimed junior full-length, Rubber Souls. To celebrate the set’s first birthday, project producer 6th Sense has liberated the instrumentals, along with a bonus “sample mix,” for free streaming and download exclusively in The DJBooth. 6th had this to say about the project: “Here are the instrumentals to Tanya Morgan’s Rubber Soulsalbum, produced by myself, 6th Sense… These instrumentals are for free! The album is still available on iTunes for purchase, so if anyone hasn’t and would like to, the support would be greatly appreciated. The beats were created in a time period spanning the end of 2010 to the end of 2012. As a bonus, I put together a sample mix for those who enjoy those kind of things. A lot was said about this album having a sample-free sound and we worked with a ton of dope musicians to beef up the sound and give the album live instrumentation but sampling was still at the heart of it all. Truth be told, there’s more than 20 samples on the album. Most of them are ambiguous, but the art of sampling will always be in my blood. Hope ya’ll like it, it’s just a slight insight into my brain.”
