Read moreHow often do you hear someone successfully cover rap songs, let alone sing them? Well, Niykee Heaton has made some waves covering Chief Keef, Fetty Wap, and more on Youtube, and found a way to make rap songs sound like they should’ve been sung in the first place. Growing up in a suburb in Chicago, Niykee says she was surrounded by “awful white kids” and doesn’t know how she got into rap in the first place. With her parents struggling with alcohol addiction, her brother with a drug addiction, and her sister diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer, Niykee indulged herself in music and felt like it was the only thing she had. When Sway asks her if music was her therapy, she responds, “if I didn’t have it, I don’t think I’d be alive today“. Instead of letting being bullied excessively in high school get the best of her, Heaton isolated herself, focused on music, and graduated 6 months early with honors. Not only can she sing, but Niykee is gorgeous. She addresses the Trinidad James rumors saying, she’s never dated him or anyone else and when Sway asks her if she likes guys or girls, Niykee says, “I prefer someone who has a good soul, no matter what shape or size they come in“, also known as a sapiosexual (shoutout to Tracy G for the correct terminology).
