N.B.S. & Treach On Rap Is Outta Control [Video]

Boston hip hop group N.B.S. was interviewed on RIOC about their latest album, Trapped In America, produced by Snowgoons. Other special guests 050 Boyz and Treach (Naughty By Nature) were in attendance as well. In this video, N.B.S. remembers when they first put in ground work as artists and were not supported by their home city. The two cousins discuss being independent artists and achieving accomplishments on their own. E’Flash mentions “we’re never going to stop living our dream, regardless of what anybody says, and that’s why we took the independent route”. They also mention Treach as a huge musical influence on them, as one of the first popular artists to shout out Boston on a mainstream level. Treach adds that the hip hop is about unity and bringing people together. He says “if you invest in yourself, other people around you will want to invest in you”. Treach Talks Getting Props From Michael Jackson For “O.P.P.” [Video]

Treach of Naughty By Nature recently sat down with VladTV, and one topic that came up was him receiving praise from global music icon, Michael Jackson. Sitting on the couch, Treach reminisced about how sampling the King of Pop’s vocals in “O.P.P.” led to him receiving legendary praise from the singer. The New Jersey native explains that Heavy D, who has a verse on MJ’s track “Jam,” invited the group out to the set of the music video while it was being filmed in Chicago. Treach then revealed what Michael had to say, ‘I just love that song. I just love what y’all did.’ An incredulous Treach added, “to hear this from Michael Jackson, this is like a dream, are you kidding me. Michael Jackson knows my record. And it’s a sample of him on it and he co-signs, you can’t beat that, yo!” The clip finished with a little humor about Michael Jackson’s famous pet monkey. Treach joked, “Bubbles was dressed better than me. His car — Bubbles had his own ride, chauffeur, his Mr. Bentley. Bubbles was getting it in, very active.” Check out the full clip; it is classic.
