On The Come Up: Kembe X [Video]

Kembe X has been making appearances on HotNewHipHop for a while now, and has always been well received. He’s been heating up in recent months as he continues to hone his already sharp wordplay and delivery, and we brought him into the studio for an On The Come Up look at the promising rapper. In the interview, he Kembe lets us know about his upbringing just south of Chicago’s city limits, how he got started rapping, his best projects (according to him) and working with Ab-Soul. Apparently the Black Lipped Bastard is pretty competitive in the studio. We featured Kembe X on our site when he was just 16 years old, and it’s great to see him continuing to grind the game and make a name for himself without needing a co-sign from a major artist. Kembe X Spits Freestyle, Talks 2016 Goals [Video]

Kembe X tells us his dreams and hopes for 2016. Kembe X has big plans for 2016. When the rapper stopped by the office (a more complete interview is on the way), he spoke on what he has poppin’ for 2016, but not without spitting a few #bars first. After making everyone hungry with rhymes about what sounds like a delicious croissant, Kembe says that he’d like to drop his first album in the first half of 2016. “I dunno if I’ma call it an album, but it;’s gunna be album quality music, album type feel,” he says. “Then I wanna do my first tour– I’ve never toured, like I’ve been on tours, unofficially, where I did shows for a week or two, but I wanna just do my first tour, get out there on the road, show my face to all the people and turn up.” He goes on to share some advice he received from Chance The Rapper and general career goals (10 albums, he says).
