eMC Discusses The Evolution Of Battle Rap Culture [Video]

EMC sat down with VladTV to share their favorite battle stories from when they were coming up in the culture, with Masta Ace saying one was from high school when another student and him went back and forth with 50 other students watching them. The hip hop group reveals that battling in their prime is different than today in terms of the level of disrespect, with Wordsmith saying he doesn’t know if he could battle by today’s standards of over-aggression. However, they recognize that the essence and love of the culture is the same. Make sure to cop their new EP, “The Turning Point” in stores now.

Rap group EMC stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk about their new album, The Turning Point. The group also spoke about how they use the internet to write their music. Additionally, they explained how they have adjusted to music becoming digitized. Masta Ace, Punchline, Wordsworth, and Strick went on to tell how wack rappers inspire their music and their appreciation for ratchet music. eMC On Their Return With New EP “The Turning Point” [Video]

The highly lyrical rap crew eMC sat down with VladTV Journalist Michael Hughes to discuss their upcoming musical projects in the works. Punchline, Wordsworth, and Masta Ace all shared details on the EP they’re releasing, “The Turning Point,” and how it consists of “6 bangers” with 12 tracks altogether when you include the skits on the project. The crew also discussed the single they currently have out called “Charlie Murphy,” and explained their motivation behind making the song. eMC has tours coming up as well. In the summer they’ll be touring around the U.S., then in the fall they’ll be taking their talents to various locations in Canada, followed by a month-long European tour. If you have yet to see the video for their new single, “Charlie Murphy,” be sure to check that out above. “The Turning Point” drops May 20.
