But now, the Los Angeles rapper and entrepreneur is known as Daddy Grace, and he’s proud to release his official solo debut album, ‘No Hip Hop For Grown Men.’ The frustration Grace refers to while creating this record stems from being a grown-ass man at a time when he feels there’s a minimal amount of Hip-Hop being made for people his age. “I just find that what I have to embrace as a fan of Hip-Hop is far and few between,” he explains, noting that he’s aware it’s always been a young man’s music. But now? “There are adult fans and adult artists, and that’s the whole concept of the album,” Grace says. “We’re talking grown-man bars, grown-folks Hip-Hop … for people who grew up in the Golden Era.” No surprise, then, that Grace comes out swinging on opening track and lead single “Black Cream.” It’s a powerful and fitting way to kick off an album titled, No Hip Hop For Grown Men, because it absolutely demonstrates otherwise.
