Sean Paul is the latest artist to rock NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.
Paul elevated reggae and dancehall to new heights in the early 2000s. After collaborating on numerous club riddims and releasing his debut album, “Stage One”, his big breakthrough came with his second album, “Dutty Rock”, in 2002. This album’s global impact transformed the music industry, with everyone from top pop stars to gritty emcees seeking the Sean Paul effect for their albums. For his performances, the strategy was straightforward: all energy, no breaks. He delivered hit after hit, including “Gimme The Light”, “Get Busy”, “Like Glue”, and culminating with “Temperature”.
