Outkast – SpottieOttieDopaliscious [Video]

Big Boi and André 3000 are celebrating two milestones this year.

In 2023, Outkast is commemorating two significant anniversaries for their third and fifth albums, “Aquemini” and “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below”, respectively. To mark these occasions, the iconic duo has collaborated with Get On Down to release limited-edition collector’s vinyl versions of both classic albums.

The “Aquemini 25th Anniversary Multi-Colored Edition”, limited to 2,000 copies, features three colored LPs (gold galaxy, cloudy magenta, and cloudy green) housed in a gold foil-stamped jacket. It also includes a printed lyrics insert, printed inner sleeves, and a commemorative OBI. This release is scheduled for October. Meanwhile, “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below” will come on double “Platinum Chain” and double “Pearl” colored vinyl and will be presented in a gatefold jacket. The release date for this edition is set for November.

Both of these special vinyl releases are currently available for pre-order on Get On Down’s website.

In addition to these exciting releases, a long-awaited music video for one of their standout songs, “SpottieOttieDopaliscious”, has finally been unveiled as an animated visual. Directed by OK Motion Club, this visual revelation also corrected the pronunciation of the song’s title for many fans.

“SpottieOttieDopaliscious”, from Outkast’s 1998 album “Aquemini”, is one of the most memorable songs in the Atlanta rap group’s iconic discography. With cool as ice “smokin’ word” and unforgettable horns, the track is an undeniable vibe. Rolling Stone sat down with Outkast’s Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, who lent vocals to the song, to break down the hip-hop standard.
