M-Dot & Pete Rock – The Atonement [Video]

M-Dot hits us with the official video for his Pete Rock-produced “The Atonement” single.

Their paths initially crossed in 2017 during a show in Switzerland, where they discovered a shared admiration for each other’s music. They stayed in touch, leading to their first collaboration called “The Atonement”. This single received immense praise upon its release, earning a place on numerous “song of the year” lists. M-Dot showcases his remarkable skills with intricate patterns and internal rhymes, complemented by Pete’s chilling instrumental. The song’s popularity extended further when DJ Premier sampled M-Dot’s vocals for Logic’s Def Jam/Universal album, “Vinyl Days”. Now, in the present, the gritty atmosphere of the track comes to life with a haunting black and white music video directed by Rayymond. This visually striking addition adds a perfect contextual layer to the emotionally charged anthem.

The song can be found on M-Dot’s latest album, “egO and the eneMy 2: A Dissolute Paradise“.
