LoVel – Somebody [Audio x Download]

Harlem singer-producer LoVel returns with a new single, “Somebody,” that blends infectious island vibes with plenty of bedroom glances for our first sampling of his next project, ‘Passenger.’ The addictive track is all meticulously layered vocals, sensual songwriting, and wonderfully crafted dancehall charm—the last of which comes via the mind of the French-based production duo, SK Beatz. The bouncy backdrop is a choice setting for LoVel to show off his vocal talents. In the case of “Somebody,” LoVel distinctively uses his vocals as an instrument, and as a means of adding superb depth. Playing backup vocalist to himself, LoVel creates a lush and engaging listening experience—perfect for a lowkey banger like this. And after a strong past few years that included 2015’s stellar ‘Backseat Memories’ EP, LoVel is ready to release something new in the form of ‘Passenger.’ While details remain slim around the project, a tentative release date is set for early Spring. “Somebody” is now available for stream through all major digital retail outlets and streaming platforms.

Cashmere – Murda (Uncle Murda Diss) [Audio x Download]

A lost interview of Brooklyn, East New York G-Unit rapper Uncle Murda on DJ KaySlay’s Shade45 Radio Show was recently exposed (via youtube) where he and fellow manager Hood, of ManHood Entertainment spoke of the labels founding artist Cashmere, now known as BK CASHMERE. Starting the interview off, the two began by claiming the artist Cashmere was “finished”. Not too many know the truth behind the music and the labels downfall but many remember the peak of ManHood and Cashmere. After hearing the interview BK CASHMERE has decided to respond in classic hiphop fashion with a dis record titled “Murda”. BK CASHMERE starts the (6 minute) diss track on a classic 50cent track and mentions how Murda now signed to 50 used to diss 50cent himself. He holds no punches going in on how Murda was ran out his own hood, to how Murda rode off the hype he started with ManHood, to being signed and dropped by DefJam/ROCAFELLA Records, and questions why he would diss r&b artist K Michellle and much more.
