The track title actually stands for “Do Right Under God’s Sight,” a message that may seem preachy at first but is actually handled with down-to-earth, thoughtful commentary from Peace. He’s essentially looking to the sky throughout his verses as a means for finding, well, peace in a community ravaged by senseless death and crime. He also admits that, sometimes, drugs are the only out, the only way to free one’s mind of the pain. Driving that mindset of hazy escapism is the atmospheric instrumental on “D.R.U.G.S.”, which was produced by Donte’s frequent collaborator, Maxtrax.
