On The Come Up: Cousin Stizz [Video]

Cousin Stizz made his mark this summer with the release of Suffolk County, a focused collection of catchy mood-driven rap, bolstered by breakout single, “Shoutout”. He’s been building a solid fanbase ever since, so we decided to catch up with the rapper for an On The Come-Up feature. Stizz hails from Dorchester in Boston, or more specifically, Field’s Corner, a place he describes as a tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone, and something of a “melting pot” of cultures. He told us all about his first experience getting in a cypher, which gave him the confidence to take writing music seriously. His writing process itself comes pretty naturally however, as he explains that “Shoutout” came together in a spontaneous 45-minute session. As for what’s next, Stizz promises to keep fine-tuning his sound and giving fans the best product possible. Look out for big things from him in the near future.
