“Over the last few years I’ve built up a large catalog as The Artist Formerly Known As Swerve 916. Although I’m moving on with a new name, I’m not abandoning my art. I’m growing into the artist I was meant to be. People started calling me Swerve as young kid because I had become known for getting highly intoxicated and kicking slurred freestyles at random house parties around the Sacramento footprint. By the time my music developed into something anyone was listening to I was already far removed from the person who was given the alias Swerve. I was 25, living in upstate NY, and just started writing songs again when Cold Winters & Warm Whiskey dropped. This was the first time a collective audience of music fans started becoming receptive. As much of a blessing as it was, I realized I wasn’t ready. I had no idea what I was doing, I didn’t even like my own alias, it sure as hell didn’t define me. 3 years and a ton of music later and I finally figured out I wasn’t Swerve from the 916 anymore. I’m just your homie Nick from NorCal. If you’re a fan of my music and have reached out to connect with me then chances are we are already on a first name basis and you’ve had the experience of watching Swerve develop into Nick. These 36 songs capture the very best of that growth and they spotlight all the good friends I made along the way. Thanks for all the love over the last few years everyone. Here’s to many more. Enjoy.” – Nick
