But in this case, [the] concept was to lay the intimacy to rest and give birth to a beautiful friendship.”

Your Old Droog – Senseless Killin’ II [Stream x Download]

“Before I head out across the pond for The #EuroDROOG Tour, I’m dropping this joint produced by my man, DJ Skizz, that showcases my famed yet underutilized ‘George Benson from Remulak’ impression—it’s basically me scatting and rhyming along with the different sounds in the beat. (Peep the Kid ‘N’ Play reference in the song, too). If you’re in London, come check out the virtuosity live in the flesh on June 8 at the Jazz Cafe (hence the jazzy joint). Bring tea for the Republican Teaparty National Convention! Saga – Make A Choice [Video]

We all make choices everyday that dictate the course of our lives. From the company we keep, the food we ingest, and the career paths we follow, our lives are the very culmination of our choices. Although some choices we make are of greater spiritual consequence than others, there’s no denying the pandemonium that occurs on both a global and personal level, as a result of war. On “Make a Choice”, which serves as the final visual installment taken from Saga’s debut release, “From Out of the Shadows”, the Brooklyn native examines the choice that a citizen makes to enlist in the U.S. Army as a result of 9/11, and the difficulty in returning to civilian life that ensues. Directed by Fred Focus with a dual narrative that intersect’s the veteran’s story, with that of a fast food customer who’s life is cut short by his own choices, we learn that the decisions that we make that often benefit the larger whole, end up enabling corporate greed and government agenda, all while making ourselves the victim. Saga’s, “From Out of the Shadows” EP is out now for free download.

At the age of three she sang her first song in front of an audience, and ever since then she has dedicated her time and her talent to reinforcing her inherent gift. Recently, while visiting VladTV Faith spoke about what led up to her deal with Bad Boy. Rooted in the church, Faith’s beliefs coupled with her consistent drive worked to bring her dreams to fruition. She confidently states, “I always knew I was going to be a singer somewhere.” Singing at weddings, funerals, retirement parties and more, the budding artist’s relentless work ethic would prepare her to perform well when Diddy unexpectedly invited her to sing on a track. “When I actually got offered a deal by Puff, to be honest, I was just there to take my daughter’s dad to the studio,” she reveals. “They were actually trying to get a song placed on Usher’s album which Puff was executive producing at that time, Usher’s first album. I wasn’t even there in the capacity of looking for a record deal. They needed someone to sing one line and they knew that I could sing.”

Logic: “Without No I.D. I Wouldn’t Be the Artist & Man That I Am” [Video]

Maryland lyricist Logic recently sat down with VladTV, and this portion of his exclusive interview focuses on how he came to work with celebrated producer No I.D. Almost three years ago while the veteran Chicago beatsmith was navigating through countless blogs, he happened to come across some of Logic’s work, and his freshly showered girlfriend just so happened to enter the room and took an instant liking to Logic’s music. That’s what initially garnered more attention from No I.D., with Logic revealing, “If it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t be in this studio right now.” The conversation then delves deeper into how No I.D. and Logic began working together. “He reached out on behalf of Def Jam just to kinda get a feel for me. We ended up having a meeting with him,” reveals the “Young Sinatra” rapper. The negotiation process was both organic and simplistic which has led to a fruitful professional relationship. Logic offers addition insight into his professional and personal respect for No I.D., saying “Without him I wouldn’t be the artist, or the young man that I am today.”
