Erick Sermon sat down for an exclusive interview with VladTV, and shared his thoughts on Keith Murray and Fredro Starr’s battle being canceled. The New York emcee said that both artists were bringing the fire for the battle, and Erick feels it would’ve been a good thing for the culture. During the conversation, the EPMD emcee speaks about how Hip-Hop is the only genre that labels artists as “old school.” Erick also addresses people saying that Jay Z needs to retire because of his age difference with other artists, which the New Yorker says is crazy, given Jay’s talents. LoVel feat. Nitty Scott, MC – College [Video]

R&B singer LoVel teams up with Nitty Scott, MC for his new single, “College”. His debut LP “Somewhere Someday” will be dropping in March. You can download “College” on LoVel’s Soundloud page. College: a place where the young minds of tomorrow go to shape themselves by getting a better understanding of the world around them. But between the initial free-for-all that goes down during a new year and last minute cram sessions for finals, lies the quintessential stress reliever: partying. Whether you’re rolling deep with your comrades on a three day bender or you decide to lay low and kick it with your bun-bun, we all need some time to decompress. If you’re like the upcoming Harlem-based R&B talent, LoVel, you’ve probably experienced some nights where that red cup seems bottomless, and some mornings where your bedside company reminds you why you’re living out the best four, maybe five years of your life. Packed with a crisp guitar piece that leads into a mesmerizing rush of torpid bass and tight hi-hats “College” is that late night cut that’ll close the party on the right note. Lyrically, LoVel aims to piece together the night; with the always debonair, Nitty Scott, MC, providing a well placed guest verse, the track comes across as a sensual, hot and cold experience. Stay on the lookout for LoVel’s upcoming full length ‘Somewhere Someday,’ which is set to drop in March of 2015.
