Vic Spencer – Bipolar Supremacy [Stream x Download]

Vic Spencer never stops working. Ever. Every week it feels like there is a new Vic Spencer song on the radar and this week is no different. From the Red Button Series: Chapter II comes the movie Bipolar Supremacy, produced by Rashid Hadee is a story all too familiar among men and women in the game of life especially entertainment life. Vic lays down nothing less than stellar bahz on this track, no theatrics, just straight storytelling. Painting a very vivid picture that is at times slightly cryptic, Vic tears this track down from start to finish. That’s what real hip-hop fans want though, give a dope visual, tell a raw story over a killer beat. Bipolar Supremacy may or may not be Vic Spencer’s true story but it’s nothing short of accurate to someone somewhere. It’s almost chilling given recent events in entertainment. Plug in and let Vic Spencer tell you all a cautionary tale.

Mr. Porter – Hey [Video]

DEnAuN strikes again with “Hey!”, the bonus track from his upcoming promotional 5-song EP entitled “Stuff in My Back Pack” DEnAuN says of the song, “I was chilling with Jay Electronica and his DJ, DJ TJ, and he starts playing loops. I stopped him when he got the that loop [heard in “Hey”] and I instantly thought it would be cool to rhyme over it. Things are pretty uptight these days with all that’s going on and there’s not bee a lot to smile about, so I called up some friends, hit the beach and shot the video. This project reminds me of my roots which is 93 to 96 era of hip hop that got me started- Tribe, Common, De La and Slum Village. This is just something light-hearted I wanted to share.” The video, directed by Morningside Films, also gives fans a precursor of what’s to come from from the EP as they will hear snippets of select tracks infused within the piece. Songs like “Cooking” (featuring Royce Da 5’9″ and another surprise guest) and “Impayshunt” featuring Phonte, which is the first track released by DEnAuN featuring his singing chops “Stuff In My Back Pack” (dropping later this month) is a refreshing body of work, all produced by Mr. Porter, that will provide fans a bit of DEnAuN as he gears up for the release of his highly anticipated album, “NiNe”, dropping in 2015. The project features guest appearances by Rhapsody, Scram Jones, Royce Da 5’9 and Phonte.

Andre Benjamin aka Andre 3000 aka one half of the mighty Outkast sits down with GRAMMY.com for an interview with Nick Huff Barili of Hard Knock TV. The conversation covers a range of topics including how Andre transformed into Jimi Hendrix for the movie All By My Side by losing 20 pounds, learning Jimi’s voice, how to play guitar left handed, his mannerisms and how he walked. Andre has earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Male Lead for his portrayal of Jimi Hendrix. When talking about what personally resonated most about Jimi Hendrix’s life and career Andre states “The human side of knowing what its like to be a new artist and trying to break out. Not even just break out into an industry but break out of yourself. And trying to find your confidence in it.” Andre goes on to talk about how important Jimi’s support team was stating “Any artist that we love, any artist that we see, I don’t care who it is, you can name your favorite artists, they would not be who they are if it wasn’t the people around. It doesn’t necessarily have to be famous people, it could be a friend, could be a parent, it could be someone hanging around in the studio, these are the people that help make the artist.” When asked about Jimi Hendrix not wanting to define his music as a particular genre Andre elaborates “I think everybody in any industry if someone likes you for
