Bas Talks “Last Winter”, “Dollar & A Dream”, J. Cole’s New Album & More [Video]

If you’ve ever been to a J. Cole show in the past year, you might have seen a husky, bearded black guy stumble onto the stage mid-set. In the midst of that set, said husky bearded black guy will ask J. Cole for a lighter while they both a little confused. Soon thereafter, the two will go into their fun-loving single “Lit.” Since getting thrown into the fire of Cole’s rabid fanbase, Bas has been able to enjoy a solid 2014. His first release, Last Winter, landed on a number of publications (including this one’s) list of best albums of 2014 so far. However, the question that remains is who is Bas exactly? The Queens product got his buzz up the old fashioned way by hitting the streets and the stage. With irreverent but catchy songs like “My N*gga Just Made Bail,” “Donk Of The Day,” and “Nigga On The Dos Equis, Most Interesting Man In The World;” it’s only a matter of time before the first artist under J. Cole’s Dreamville imprint is as recognized as his Born Sinner compadre. While in Los Angeles, we sat down with Bas to talk about the success of his debut project as well as hitting the road with J. Cole on the Dollar And A Dream tour. We also got Bas to reveal some secrets about J. Cole’s upcoming solo album.
