Clyde Carson’s album “Playboy” just dropped and he’s celebrating, not by popping bottles, but rather by going back to the studio. In our exclusive interview, Clyde talks about how he maintains his grinding mentality. He references his fans as a driving force to keep making music, calling it ‘supply and demand’. He also mentions how it feels to have his rap idols on his album, having grown up listening to Master P and No Limit, and now having a song with him. He mentions, “…part of the thrill is being with legends and working with them.” We also learn that the album title “Playboy” was inspired by his favorite rapper Too $hort and hearing ‘Playboy Short’. He shares that the project itself chronicles the different scenes from a playboy lifestyle as experienced through his eyes.

Maino Talks Macklemore Grammy Win & Gay Culture [Video]

Maino shares his thoughts on Macklemore beating out Kendrick Lamar for Best Rap Album, and claims that the people on the Grammy board don’t know anything about hip-hop culture, so Maino wasn’t too surprised. He also thought that Macklemore texting Kendrick after the awards show was a good example of “keeping it real,” which he believes is a rare thing in the culture, despite everyone preaching it all the time. When asked about Macklemore’s “Same Love” being a hit rap song, Maino says that homosexuality is prominent in the world, and he’s not bothered by it. The “Million Bucks” rapper says that he would still do a song with Macklemore today, as he believes “people should have the right to love who they want to love.”
