Funkmaster Flex celebrates 30 years on radio from a hip-hop pioneer. Kool DJ Red Alert made his radio station debut on New York radio station 98.7 Kiss FM airwaves on October 19, 1983. With Mr. Magic assisting him, the two heralded DJ’s became the first to introduce rap music on radio across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
