Pusha T Talks Big Sean & Juicy J Record Sales [Video]

VIBE sat down with Pusha T backstage at Rock the Bells X where we asked him about the low hip-hop sales last week. Both Juicy J and Big Sean released new albums under heavy promotion, but while both made it into the Top Five on the Billboard 200 chart, neither broke 100,000 mark in sales. (In comparison, Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail sold about 500,00 copies in its first week). “Everybody is not going to be prime to sell all the records in the world simply because the same amount of money isn’t put into everybody, and different projects and different labels have different priorities,” Pusha T tells VIBE. King Push says he’s currently spinning both LPs in the car and agrees that both rappers put out “quality work”. Push throws out some positive energy into the world. “You’re talking to somebody who sold a million records and who sold no records before, and I’m still here,” he says.

But, according to Common that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Watch the interview above.
