Marz Lovejoy – DOLO [Audio]

One of the West Coast’s most promising new artists, Marz Lovejoy, is currently preparing her debut album, Elephant Soundz. Marz has been busy working with producer Om’Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, Odd Future, Sa-Ra), who is signed-on to executive produce Elephant Soundz. The album’s first leak, “DOLO,” is an ode to independence, produced by Polyester (Dom Kennedy). On the track, Marz displays her brilliant songwriting sensibilities, as she seamlessly showcases her lyrical ability and her knack for crafting infectious hooks. Marz has also been quite busy in Hollywood this year. She recently finished filming for director John Stockwell and producer Gordon Bijelonic’s forthcoming film, Kid Cannabis. Earlier this year, Marz made her cinematic debut in Common’s LUV which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2010, she released her debut EP This Little Light Of Mine, at just 19 years of age, to critical acclaim. OkayPlayer.com described the EP “an excellent debut…[Marz] has the ability to craft catchy hooks to make some noise in the mainstream crowd, and she has the lyrical prowess to hang with the best of the underground.” She has since toured the country and/or shared the stage with the likes of Eykah Badu, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Wu-Tang Clan, Yelawolf, and more. Marz Lovejoy’s debut album, Elephant Soundz will be released in 2013 via Elephant Soundz /iHipHop Distribution.
