Canadian pop singer Nelly Furtado has sold 5.1 million albums and 10 million singles in America since her 2000 debut, “Whoa, Nelly!,” and her breakthrough single, “I’m Like a Bird,” according to Nielsen SoundScan. She then delivered such hits as 2001’s “Turn Off The Light,” 2003’s “Powerless,” and 2006’s “Maneater” and “Promiscuous.” Her last English-language album, 2006’s “Loose” was followed by the Spanish “Mi Plan” in 2009.
