Watch Noname’s Tiny Desk Concert [Video]

Here’s a fun fact about Noname’s Tiny Desk Concert: It almost didn’t happen. Around the time of their D.C. stop, she (born Fatimah Warner) and her bandmates got their first dose of tour sickness. Thanks to rest, medicine and our mutual excitement, she made her way into the NPR offices the following day. If there ever was a ‘Noname’ way of doing things, this is definitely her signature method. It’s in the way she’s able to muster a smile while performing a heartbreaking tale of abortion. It’s those sometimes bleak, melancholy lyrics over brilliant, colorful production.

Madchild – Zombie F*cker [Audio]

“This is a song where I did a verse collaboration with an artist Tolchock Maltijik from Sweden… We also shot a video for it out there. I really liked the song so I went in and just did a new long “freestyle” verse over the whole beat… I was pretty much “radio silent” last year but I am ready to come back out and really start smashing. Here’s the first installment of songs to come to keep my fans and listeners fulfilled until I start releasing more content from my next album “The Darkest Hour”. I have added a free download link of the song at, as it will not be on any streaming sites.” – Madchild

Don Q feat. DJ Whoo Kid – Chosen One [Video]

With his release of the 12-track mixtape Corner Stories in February, Don Q established himself as one of the most exciting rappers in New York City and one of the genre’s potential breakout stars in 2017. Don has given HNHH the green light to premiere his new music video “Chosen One.” The video takes the form of a collage, with thermal camera shots of Don overlaid on images of bridges, skyscrapers, and other structures native to Don Q’s native Highbridge, the Bronx neighborhood located just northwest of Yankee Stadium. The video is abridged (no second verse), but Don manages to pack an inordinate amount of confidence into 90 seconds. “My camera roll look like a porn site.”

Bad Poetry Club – The Words + Look Up In The Sky [Audio x Download]

Northeastern Hip-Hop crew Bad Poetry Club reveals their jazzy, hypnotic inaugural single, “The Words”, which also serves as our first listen off their forthcoming project. The multitalented conglomerate smoothly fuses the sounds of Boom bap, Jazz, and Modern Dance on their debut effort. And given the players involved, that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone listening. BPC is made up of instrumentalist/vocalist Michael Wilbur (Moon Hooch), producer/rapper Tonio Sagan, beatboxer/producer Honeycomb, and rapper Sotorios (Political Animals frontman). Together, these four artists, with additional instrumentation provided by Garrett Sawyer on bass, display a clear knack for collaborating on “The Words,” a brassy slapper that perfectly blends the styles and sounds of everyone involved. It also bodes extremely well for their self-titled debut. The record doesn’t have a release date just yet, but this joint is definitely enough to hold us over until more details trickle out. Stream “The Words” below and hit the jump for their brand new single “Look Up In The Sky”.
