Young Roddy just dropped his debut album The Kenner Loop, and now he’s shared the second part of his new documentary series on the LP. In the new episode we find Rodday where we left him, conversing with Rob Markman in the back of a car. Here, Roddy comments on his decision to release his first album after gaining a large following with mixtapes, which he explained wasn’t necessarily a decision at all, but just something that happened as he began to take his music more seriously. Later on, he visits the Spotify office, where he receives advice on building on his already loyal fanbase, and teh next steps in his career.

Fresh off the release of his debut album The Kenner Loop via his Good Sense imprint, Young Roddy came by the HNHH studio to record a song called “Bill Russell.” After releasing the smooth AListFame-produced track last week, HNHH proudly premieres the “Bill Russell” video, shot on site. Bill Russell won 11 NBA championships over the course of his 13-year career with the Boston Celtics. He is the definition of winner, the golden standard to which Roddy aspires. “Mama told me told don’t hit the block, but still I hustle/ sorry love, I’m just tryna ball, Bill Russell.”

Young Roddy: The Kenner Loop (Documentary – Part 1) [Video]

Young Roddy talks about “The Kenner Loop” and more. After hitting us with a new freestyle this morning, “Bill Russell,” produced by AListFame, Roddy continues the releases this afternoon with a new vlog/documentary in support of his debut album, The Kenner Loop. We’ll be rolling out four episodes in the series, kicking it off today. The first part finds Roddy and in a car with Rob Markman, as the two drive around New York City and discuss Roddy’s album. Roddy talks on the significance of the Kenner loop, and why he chose to name his album after it. It’s all a reflection of the struggle he experienced growing up, and an attempt to give back to his city. Roddy also talks about his affiliation with Jet Life, and the inception of his own imprint, Good Sense. Even though he’s started Good Sense, he says he’ll always be a Jet Lifer.
