Smoke DZA & Harry Fraud Remember Sean Price [Video]

Sean Price was a dolo rapper through and through. He dodged the mainstream machine and stuck to his convictions with Duck Down Records, Boot Camp Clik, and his family and friends in Brownsville, Brooklyn, which earned him even more respect as an independent artist. That being said, if you were on his good side, it was nothing but love. Rappers the likes of Mac Miller, Vic Spencer, Sketch McGuiney, and more have the distinction of being the “couple of new n*ggas” that Sean called friend, and Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud can count themselves on that list, too. Watch our interview where they talk about their earliest memories of Sean Price.

3 & Out: Smoke DZA & Harry Fraud Talk New Album “He Has Risen” [Video]

Smoke DZA is known by many fans as the ‘Kushed God’ for his fondness of fine bud, so the title of his latest album with Harry Fraud, He Has Risen, may lead fans to believe that he’s let the messianic signifiers go to his head. But no. The name of the first collaborative project from the duo since 2012’s Rugby Thompson (and DZA’s first since 2014’s Dream.ZONE.Achieve) isn’t even about being high, rather it refers more to the the Harlem MC’s absence from music last year, and anticipated return. “My dad has Diabetes and he had his leg amputated. So I had to be the good son and hold down the fort,” DZA says of his rap sabbatical, even referring to himself as a prodigal son. “Rap and everything had to take a back seat for a second. I had to make sure he got himself together. He’s been out the crib for a year. He really gave me the blessings like ‘Get out my face. You in here moping. Go be creative. Go make some money.’” The result was a no-nonsense EP clocking in at a lean but potent 9 tracks where DZA sounds refreshed but focused, stepping out of his comfort zone. “Smoke’s put out a lot of projects. He’s been at it for a minute,” says Harry Fraud. “And I feel like if I’m a fan of an artist I want to hear what I’m a fan of them for, that style, but I want them to

Smoke DZA Kills 5 Fingers Of Death And Shares Thoughts On Troy Ave/Joey Bada$$ Beef [Video]

Smoke DZA stopped by SITM recently to talk about his brand new project dropping this Friday, March 4th, that was produced by talented Harry Fraud entitled ‘He Has Risen‘. The album comes with only one feature, Snoop Dogg on the track “Morals” (which you can check out below). While there he also took time to discuss the recent beef between Troy Ave and Joey Badass calling it good for the sport, as that competitive nature thrives in Hip Hop. Speaking of that competitive nature, we couldn’t let him leave without attacking the 5 Fingers of Death as a true emcee. Bars.

Smoke DZA & Manolo Rose feat. Problem – Brinks Truck [Audio x Download]

Brinks Truck is the first track From a Smoke Dza X Manolo Rose EP titled “867 Madison Ave” with all production by 183rd. The EP will feature 6 tracks by the duo with a couple special guest features. 183rd, Dza, and Manolo are all known for their extensive polo collection and it was this similar interest that helped spark the idea for a collaborative project. Their interest in exclusive Ralph Lauren pieces and mutual respect for musical styles became the premise for “867 Madison Ave” (the address of the polo mansion). Dza’s laid back flow compliments Manolo’s energetic hooks and both deliver slick metaphors laced with double entendres, making “867 Madison Avenue” perfect for any mood.
