Read more@CHICAGO/worldwide@ is the second solo studio album by American hip hop recording artist Sey. It was released on August 14th, 2014, by TheDREAMERS LLC. The album began production in March 2013 at the Grindhouse in Chicago’s Chinatown. During the process, Sey gathered various artists and close collaborators for production on the album, including AX, IVOL of St. South, Troyak, Multiplier, Phantom Black, and Bear Blu!. CHICAGO/worldwide also features vocal guest appearances from Monster Mike and Vic Spencer, as well as previous collaborator John Berry. Sey enlisted the help of producer Doc Da Mindbenda to engineer the entire project. 88

Read moreOver the holiday weekend I decided to revisit the closing track on TheDREAMERS’ debut project, Visions of Reality, which was released last year. I felt it was fitting because, a) I was home, and b) the track is about transitioning out of the house to life on your own and a year later, I wanted to see how I was doing. I didn’t have my usual crew around me as I was all the way out in Virginia, but I grabbed my Dad’s iPhone 5 and asked my little brother if he’d be willing to direct it. He obliged and even helped me edit it. I’m very proud of what me, a 14 year old, and a smartphone could do. It captured the original sentiment very well and is a fitting tribute to the upcoming one year anniversary of our debut mixtape. – Sey
Read moreIt seems like today, Rap is all about the turn up. So much so that we never hear about the turn down or the want/need to turn down. That’s what I realized one weekend after continually binging on a number of things. It felt like I was drowning, but I wasn’t trying to necessarily save myself. That feeling is what I’m trying to convey with this song. The sounds are upbeat and the words seem like fun, but really take a listen to what is going on. The Bay Area’s own, Toson Nosa, chimes in with his own account of what it means to be in that mindstate. AX adds his own thoughts through sampling the Weeknd; an artist who knows this subject too well. Shouts to Doc for mixing/mastering as well. He really helped bring this to life. Thanks for listening.
